The myNumo instructions say: 501 Darts: The object of Standard Play is to be the first player to reach zero from a starting score of 501. During a players turn, a player throws three darts and subtracts his total from his previous score until he reaches zero. This game is simple, but it becomes tricky as the players near the zero score. To win, a player not only has to reach zero exactly, but also must obtain it through a "double." For example, if a player has 18 points left, he needs to hit a double 9 in order to win.
Well, this might be their best game. My friend and I played each other and had a ton of fun. The final need for a double score to win makes it pretty tricky as well.
Cellufun is at it again and this time it's with a great game that's similar to the old school Atari games. Their website says:
Wave after wave of marauding ships intent on your destruction appear in formation above you. Defeat them all only to confront their increasingly difficult boss ships. 10 challenging levels, 3 bosses, and a slew of power-ups await you in this space shooter reminiscent of Space Invaders and Galaga.
I definitely enjoyed Attack of the Zloggs. If you've ever played Space Invaders you'll love this.
Cyclops from 38i is a simple game in which you want to rotate your spaces ship around and shoot the floating eyes that are bearing down on you. The game's really simple and somewhat fun but I found it to get old after about 5 minutes. But, if you're into old school arcade-style games you might really enjoy Cyclops.
iDartz is extremely similar to TankBusters - except you're throwing darts at balloons or balloon animals instead of bombs on tanks. I do like this game style though and it looks/plays well on the iPhone or iTouch. If you like darts and want to space out for a few minutes while on the bus or whatever this is a great game for you. It's fairly easy and gets progressively harded as you move along in the game.
This isn't real metroid. You're actually just standing in one place shooting things as they appear so don't get too excited. I'm sure Jirbo will want to extend this game and make it more involved but it's fairly fun as is.
My big hope is that someone creates Metroid for the iPhone without having to use the whole emulator.
Infiltrator reminds me of the Rambo for the NES. You're playing in a bird's eye view and controlling a character who goes left, right, up and down. Click the circle button to shoot at enemies.
Of DS Effects' games this is one of the better ones. It's fun, complex and takes a while to get good at.
This game is still in the works but it looks absolutely amazing. It's the original doom on your iPhone and it looks very good. The game is controlled by touching the screen and dragging left or right to turn or move. Tapping with both fingers will make you shoot. You can see from the video below it's not fully done but it is going to be amazing once Psychocromatic finishes up.
Below is a screenshot and video so you can see it in the works.
Remember the final scene in Star Wars where Luke Skywalker is trying to shoot rockets into the huge ship? Well, this is that game for the most part - and it's a ton of fun. Avoid the incoming shots and win!
RocketBlast is an interesting game from 38i in which you want to fire your missiles to intercept incoming rockets. The game never stops or changes but it does keep track of the number of missiles you've fired, what your accuracy is and how many rockets you've let pass.
Overall, this game has potential but need tweaks, levels and some progress. I like it but there needs to be more.
Shooting Gallery's a simple but somewhat fun game in which various icons will float across the top of the screen. On the bottom is a bow and arrow and your objective is to pop the balloons as they float by. If you want you can move the bow and arrow right or left using the arrows. Pressing fire makes the arrows fly.
