Under Clouds has created a fun game which is a cross between a Rubik's cube and color matching. The game instructions say:
Solve the puzzle by twisting the layers to match three or more gems of the same color together. Keep an eye out on the timebar, game ends when it runs out. Every collected gem add more time to the bar.
I liked this game because you have to be smart and think a few moves ahead while watching the clock. Once you've played it for ten or so minutes you'll get the hang of it.
Gems is a very simple bejeweled style game which uses only colored blocks. If you have a slow internet connection or want a hyper-simple version of bejeweled play this. Personally, I wished there was a little more to it but it's still fun and worth playing.
Oh, also, you'll get little popups when you try moves you can't make.
Thanks to ZodTTD.com for releasing the first public version of Genesis for the iPhone. It's in Beta Testing mode right now but looks amazing and should prove to work fairly well. I'm posting a screenshot below but you can go straight to the link by clicking here.
This game merges sudoku with color matching. Ken Brewster, the game maker's instructions say:
Fill the board without repeating in rows, columns, or sub-boards. The background color is the color of the next piece. If you duplicate a color in a row, column, or sub-board, it will clear. Puzzle changes daily - see you tomorrow!
You can also read people's comments and more info for the game on Ken's site .
Gno is a great game to play with your friend. The premise is:
Professor Phileas Gno, the renowned scholar and world traveler, is looking for some enthusiastic research assistants to help him organize his card catalog of world knowledge. Visit the Gno mansion with your friend, and through a little brainwork, a dash of luck and a sound strategy, you might just become his most favoured research assistant.
I really liked this game because you're challenging your friend with trivia questions and are working your way around a board as well. It's a little tricky to describe so I'd say just play it and you and your partner will learn as time moves on. The game's skewed a bit towards kids so it would be perfect to play with your child.
myNumo's created a pretty tricky golf game where you objective is to drive the golf ball onto the green. You set the direction and then power and then your player will swing and hit the ball.
What makes this game difficult is the direction and power meters move really fast. So you have to be good with timing and play for a bit until you get good. But this is a good first step towards a golf game on the iPhone.
I really can't wait until someone creates a golf game using the SDK. That's going to be cool.
Gravity, like all other Under Clouds games is a really fun game. In it, you navigate a ball through various mazes whic collecting stuff and getting points. I took a screenshot of the instructions (below).
UnderClouds.com really does make some of the best games for the iPhone/iTouch right now and Gravity Swarm is a testament to that. This is essentially asteroids with a twist. They've made the game a lot more fun by adding mines, weapons upgrades and other little goodies.
I really liked this game a lot and will absolutely be playing it again.
