Viking Smackdown from Hello Viking is a slick, fun game that's designed specifically for your iPhone or iPod Touch. In it, you're a viking with an axe and you want to break things. To do this turn the device horizontal to power up your toss and then flip it back veritcal to throw the axe. It'll take you a number of tries to get the power right but once you get a few levels down you'll be doing well.
I liked this game a lot and will be playing it a bunch more to see how many levels I can get through....plus I like the whitty remarks the game makes when I screw up.
That's right, the amazing Bomberman is being brought to your iPhone or iPod Touch by Hudson. The game costs $9.99 and is available through the iTunes App Store. It looks great and plays wonderfully. if you've ever played Bomberman and enjoyed that version you'll love this.
In the game, your goal is to find your way through the various mazes while avoiding enemies and bombing stuff. Definitely read the full instructions first though so you don't get confused and annoyed. Below are a few pics from the Hudson game site.
Neverball is available through the iTunes App Store and is a great game. Your goal is to roll yourself (a ball) through various levels and collect as many coins as possible. The game is similar to Super Monkey Ball but appears to be free.
To roll your ball you utilize accelerometer and actually move the iPhone. It takes a little while to get used to it but after 15-20 minutes you should be passing levels and having fun.
38i has created a great version of Backgammon for the iPhone/iPod Touch that plays really smooth and looks good on the iPhone. If you don't know how to play Backgammon be sure and check out the rules first!
Personally, I liked this version cause I was able to beat the computer and it's fairly easy to play. I hit the wrong pieces twice but still managed to win with the mistakes.
Sarkscape, the creators of Ninja Ropes and Block2Lock have created a great, asteroid-like game called Mass Defense. In the game your objective is to make sure no planets hit yours by shooting at the and redirecting their course. The white meter on the top left indicates the amount of ammo you have and the red bar is health.
I really like this game and played about 5 rounds straight just now. I'm finding the key is to let your ammo build up as much as possible and try to get your shots to bounce from planet to planet so you get more bang for your shot. You'll definitely get hit at some point so make sure the small planets hit you and not the big ones.
Play against your iPhone in this classic game. You can swap the cards you don't want after the first draw and betting in order to get the best poker hand.
I definitely liked this version and found the graphics to be high quality. Unlike traditional 5 card draw you can actually swap all five of your cards.
